Verb And Its Types
VERB:
A word that is used to show an action is called verb.
It describe what actually the subject is doing.
Most verbs are doing words.they tell us what people,animals or things are doing.
EXAMPLE:
Eat,swims,sleep,have,own,walk etc
- TYPES OF VERB:
REGULAR VERB:
Regular verb are those that can form its past and past participle by adding ed or d.
EXAMPLE:
close - closed
stop-stopped
IRREGULAR VERB:
Irregular verbs are those that cannot form its past and past participle by adding ed or d.
EXAMPLE:
awake-awoke -awoken
speak -spoke -spoken
blow blew- blown
LINKING VERB:
linking verb that connects the subjects of a sentence with an adjective,noun,or descriptive phrase.
EXAMPLE:
Be ,being,is am ,are,has been ,have been etc
TRANSITIVE VERB:
Transitive means passing over.It is a verb that denotes an action which passes over from the doer or subject to an object.
EXAMPLE:
the boys kicks the football.(kick is called transitive because it passes over from the doer or subject)
Ring the aliya.
The driver stopped the train
INTRANSITIVE VERB:
Intransitive means not passing over.It is a verb that denotes an action which does not pass over to an object or it express a state or being.
EXAMPLE:
The girl laughs loudly.(the action denoted by the verb laughs stops with the doer or subject girl and does not pass over to object)
The ship sank rapidly.

FINITE VERB:
Finite verb shows agreement with subject and is marked of tense.It shows times or it is limited by a number,person or gender of the subject
EXAMPLE:
Sara writes letter.
they have written a letter.
INFINITE VERB:
Infinite verb does not show times or which is not limited by a number,person and tense of the subject
EXAMPLE:
Sana tries to sing.
They try to sing.
